February 25, 2017 @ 2:00 pm

| $15 – $30

Directed by: Oleksandr Dovzhenko
Year: 1928
Running Time: 93mins
Rating: CTC

Dovzhenko’s focus is once again on the revolution and civil war in Ukraine, particularly the events that took place at the end of World War I, resulting in an unsuccessful Bolshevik uprising in January 1918 in Kiev. In Soviet mythology, the uprising at Arsenal is one of the key episodes in the tale of Bolshevik martyrdom in Ukraine. However, it should be remembered that it were not as much the people of Kyiv who revolted against the Central Council as Russian workers instigated by Bolsheviks, who were competing for power in Ukraine.
